The Centre on Human Trafficking Research and Outreach (CENTHRO) successfully launched its Financial Capability Intervention on 11th November 2025 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the Mbidzi Room. The event brought together key stakeholders, government representatives, humanitarian partners, and advocates dedicated to enhancing financial empowerment and resilience among survivors and vulnerable communities.
The programme featured opening remarks from the Ministry of Homeland Security, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and stressing the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration. Presentations from the Ministries of Youth and Gender further underscored their roles in prevention, awareness, and support for vulnerable populations. A survivor of human trafficking shared a moving testimony, reminding attendees of the human impact behind the policies and statistics.
CENTHRO Director David Okech presented the organization’s findings, initiatives, and strategic interventions aimed at reducing human trafficking risks. The keynote address by Chief Justice Rizine R. Mzikamanda emphasized the judiciary’s critical role in protecting vulnerable populations and strengthening legal frameworks.
The launch concluded with the official handover of a baseline study to guide policy and program design, followed by a press conference and a networking lunch. Mirage PR successfully managed the event, ensuring seamless coordination and high-quality execution across all aspects of the launch.
Highlights of the campaign
– Organized the media on behalf of the client and created media briefs to ensure that stories reflected impact as well as presented the full story. Stories were featured on digital platforms as well as the prominent newspaper outlets.
– The event commenced in time with most of the guests arriving at the intended time with many more observing the time on the programme.
– The stage branding and overall ambience of the room was commended by the guests as well as the client.
– The event was attended by more than the expected 75 guests with numbers reaching close to 81. This showed that guests were eager to be part of this event.
– The event coordination was well organized with the client commending the service throughout the event.
– The PA system delivered excellent sound quality, ensuring all speakers were clearly audible throughout the event with no technical issues.
